BEE at LRI
LRI is proud to be a Level Three contributor to Black
Economic Empowerment (BEE) for Qualifying Small
Enterprises (QSE). The company's Executive Board is
50% black with regards to executive directors with
exercisable voting rights.
LRI believes in developing skills within the HDI youth and spends considerable resources
in training black undergraduates within the various divisions of the company. Such
students are trained in leading edge technologies and are involved in current company
projects so as to equip them with crucial skills for their professional careers.
The following are testimonials from two students who have benefitted from this programme:
'I am a student at UKZN (PMB campus). I would like to take this opportunity again to thank you for giving me the vacation work experience over the recent vacation. Besides getting to know and experience some of the features in GIS under LRI I have managed to pay for my outstanding tuition fees with the payment I had from LRI. For giving me this opportunity I thank you a lot.' Sbonelo Dlamini (UKZN graduate) 'I would like to take this opportunity to thank LRI for the experience that I received from working with the company. Also I would like to thank the managers for their support, courage, patience and mentorship they provided for me (sic). Take pride in knowing that you have laid the first brick in my career. I wish LRI all the best and that you will continue to contribute in other people's career as you have done for me.' Andile Mncube (UKZN graduate) |
